Meet Your PAWrtist!!!

SJL Dog Training's Pupervisor, Cali, a year old Australian Shepherd who completed her first painting at just 4 months old! She is currently being trained in complex service tasking, abstract behavior, item retrieval, and painting works of art by holding a brush in her mouth. Although Sidney guides her with a target pole, all of her paintings are 100% VOLUNTARY and goes at her own time with plenty of play breaks!

 

To make sure Cali finds painting reinforcing, Sidney pairs the task with high levels of reward breaks up the time she paints. Cali's art may take several hours to complete. She and Trainer Sidney have been working alongside each other creating collaborative pieces that they do on commission for their clients (information in the aesthetics add-on)! By being Trainer Sidney’s personal dog, she is constantly learning new behaviors and inspiring others that possibilities are much higher than they may seem.
